Shalom uvracha,

I have been privileged to be called to the pulpit at Congregation Ahabat Torah in San Jose.
This congregation follows the Sephardic ritual but introduces many Ashkenazic customs.
Jews of all traditions are most welcome to join with us.

I am a graduate of Yeshiva University, having received a Hebrew teacher's certification
there as well as Semicha. My major course of study in the college of Yeshiva University
was philosophy. I can be called a "seasoned rabbi" having served for many years in the
pulpits of a few congregations on the East coast. And now California is my home, different
in many ways from the "life I am used to back East". My wife, Rebbetzin Marjorie Green,
and I are proud of our ten grandchildren who live a Torah way of life.

Throughout my career in the pulpit I have remained faithful to Orthodox Judaism. However, I have always
stretched out my hand, my mind, and my heart to my brothers and sisters "wherever they may be on the Torah
Tree". I enjoy sharing my knowledge with everyone. I equally enjoy hearing about other approaches to the
understanding of the Torah text and the development of Jewish minhag, customs, and ceremonies.

I think it is very important for us as a Jewish community to understand why there are several movements and
branches among our people today. I have come to San Jose to share my experience and my knowledge with all
those who are inquisitive. Please do not hesitate to engage me in dialogue, to pose questions to me, to challenge
me if you wish. But please do approach me if you wish to learn more about meaningful Jewish life. My door is
open to all.

Since our congregation is housed in the Carriage Square Shopping Center at 1537 A Meridian Avenue, in San
Jose, CA,
we do not have to deal with the question of an open parking lot on Shabbat and Yom Tov. If you
understand the "hidden meaning" of that sentence you might have an idea of my Jewish philosophy. And if the
"hidden meaning" is indeed hidden from you, you might want to speak to me as well. Either way, both you and I
shall benefit from knowing one another. Silicon Valley-HERE I AM!.
